House Fire at 716 University Pky.

On Saturday, July 14, 2012 at approximately 4:42pm, the Johnson City Fire Department responded to a house fire at 716 University Pky.

The first engine arrived on the scene in under 2 minutes and advised that flames were visible.

A search of the residence revealed that there were no occupants inside the structure.

The fire was extinguished in approximately 20 minutes. Units responding included 4 engines and 2 ladder trucks and a rehab vehicle. A total of 17 personnel actively participated.

No injuries were reported.

The JCFD was assisted by members of the Johnson City Police Department and Johnson City  / Washington County EMS.

Moderate damage was sustained to the 2 story structure. University Parkway was shut down in the north bound lanes for approximately 2 hours but has since reopened.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Johnson City Fire Marshal’s Office. Preliminary investigations indicate that this was not an intentionally set fire.
