Rescue at Structure Fire for Johnson City FD

The Johnson City Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire at 2312 Rambling Road at 07:36:26 on Christmas morning. First arriving crews (arriving at 07:41:44) reported smoke showing from the residence and confirmed that an occupant was trapped. Members immediately organized to provide search and rescue efforts. A victim was removed from the residence by Fire Department crews and taken to Johnson City Medical Center Hospital by EMS for care and treatment. The victim was flown to Vanderbilt Hospital. The extent of her injuries are not known. The Fire Department sent four engine companies, two ladder companies, a command vehicle, a rehab unit, and an air support truck to the second alarm assignment. There were no injuries to fire crews. The cause of the fire is still being investigated by the Johnson City Fire Marshal's Division. The fire started in a bedroom and extended to the main hallway corridor. The home received major smoke damage throughout and extensive fire damage to the hallway and bedroom areas.
