Johnson City House Fire

    The Johnson City Fire Department responded to a House Fire at 408 East Watauga Avenue this evening at 6:07 PM.  The first unit arrived within 3 minutes from dispatch.  The house was a 3 story turn-of-the-century structure with wood framing.  Arriving units found heavy fire at the rear of the structure in a basement.  All occupants were out of the structure.  The first engine made entry at the rear basement and was able to gain control of the fire within 10 minutes.  Additional units were used to gain access to the 2nd story above the basement.  The fire had extended into the roof of the 2nd floor.  Ladder companies were able to cut a vent hole in the roof of the structure.  No injuries were reported on scene.  The cause of the fire is still under investigation.  No other information is available at this time.

jJohnson City House Fire

On Tuesday May 28, 2013, at 6:11 a.m. The Johnson City Fire Department responded to a house fire at 222 Lamont St. Pre-arrival information indicated that there was a female victim still in the house.

 

The first unit arrived within 2 minutes and advised that there was smoke coming from the second floor.

 

The victim was located after an aggressive search and brought out a second floor window and down a ladder. Immediate first aid was given by JC/WC EMS and fire department personnel within 10 minutes from the original dispatch. She was transported emergency traffic to the Johnson City Medical Center.

 

The victim is a 54 year old female who resided at the residence.

 

No other information is available at this time.

 

The investigation has been turned over to the Fire Marshal’s division with assistance from the Johnson City Police Department.

 

Quick action and assistance from 3 agencies made this a successful rescue. Those involved were the Johnson City Fire Department, Washington County / Johnson City EMS and the Johnson City Police Department.
