On Saturday March 19, 2016, the Johnson City Fire Department responded to a reported house fire at 811 N. North St.
The call was dispatched at 12:24 am and the first fire department unit arrived in five minutes and reported smoke showing.
After verifying that the only occupant was out of the house, the small fire was extinguished. The fire was located in the bedroom.
Members of the WC/JC EMS treated the occupant on the scene and transported them to the Johnson City Medical Center for further treatment.
Officers from the Johnson City Police Department were first on the scene and assisted the occupant from the house.
A total of 14 personnel with 3 engines and 2 ladder trucks and 1 command vehicle responded to the incident.
The cause of the fire was smoking in bed.
