House Fire in Johnson City

On Saturday March 19, 2016, the Johnson City Fire Department responded to a reported house fire at 811 N. North St.

The call was dispatched at 12:24 am and the first unit arrived in five minutes and reported smoke showing.

After verifying that the only occupant was out of the house, the small fire was extinguished. The fire was located in the bedroom.

Members of the WC/JC EMS treated the occupant on the scene and transported them to the Johnson City Medical Center for further treatment.

Officers from the Johnson City Police Department were first on the scene and assisted the occupant from the house.

A total of 14 personnel with 3 engines and 2 ladder trucks and 1 command vehicle responded to this incident.

The cause of the fire was smoking in bed.

Building Fire at Pine Oaks Golf Course

At approximately 12:40 Tuesday morning, Johnson City Fire Department units were dispatched to a reported business fire across from H.T. Hackney in the area of Buffalo Rd. and Lafe Cox Dr.  Initial arrving units confirmed a working fire at the Pine Oaks Golf Course maintenance building.  Crews forced entry, performed ventilation, and extinguished the fire utilizing three atttack lines.  The fire was extinguished within 20 minutes.

The Johnson City Fire Department response included 4 Engines, 2 Ladder Trucks, a Command Unit, and Rehab Unit with a total of 17 members on scene.  Assistance was provided by Washington County EMS with medical standby as well as Johnson City Police Department units for traffic control.

The Fire Marshal's division is continuing the investigation.

No one was at the business at the time of the fire and there were no reported injuries.

JCFD House Fire

The Johnson City Fire Department was dispatched to a reported house fire at 1011 Embreeville Road at 0609 this morning.  Crews arrived to find a 50% involved structure.  Crews were quickly able to contain the fire to the rear of the structure.  The structure sustained heavy heat and smoke damage throughout the structure.  Fire is currently under investigation at this time by the Johnson City Fire Marshall’s Office.  A total of 3 Engines, 2 Ladder Trucks, and one command vehicle responded to the fire with a total of 14 people.  The American Red Cross was called to the scene.
